urgent remove POINTOPOINT from ifconfig

urgent remove POINTOPOINT from ifconfig
When I do ifconfig -a on my machine then POINToPOINT is appearing instead of broadcast
How can I set it to broadcast ?

use ifconfig plumb & unplumb
it will take the interface offline, so you will get disconnected if you are connected vvia that interface
ifconfig bge0 unplumb
and than
ifconfig bge0 plumb
now you will again need to define ip address for the interface and don't forget to bring it up
