How to enable telnet in solaris 10

Hi I installed solaris 10 but I have found that I am only able to ssh into the machine, telnet is disabled
how can I enable the telnet service on solaris ?

You can enable telnet by issuing the command

Code:

svcadm enable network/telnet

same command can be used to enable FTP on the machine

svcadm enable network/ftp

Thanks , telent is now working but I am not able to directly login as root via telnet ?

vi /etc/default/login and go where is says

Code:

# If CONSOLE is set, root can only login on that device.
# Comment this line out to allow remote login by root.
#
CONSOLE=/dev/console

comment out the CONSOLE=/dev/console line by putting a hash before it and you will be all done
