Default No FTP, how to copy files ?

My machine has some stripped down version of Solaris or Unix installed, it does not have FTP in it, I want to copy some files from it .. Is there anyway I can do so ? I have tried installing FTP server but was not successful
Please tell if I can copy or transfer files via a way other then FTP

Thanks

I assume that the system would have SSH installed, if yes then you can use SFTP to access and copy the files
SFTP is basically FTP over SSH and works well in situations when you don't have FTP installed

to connect using sftp just use

sftp [email protected]
