How to add the new repositories in package manager

Hi all;
I'm a newbie;
I has downloaded gyachi, vlc but I can't install them.
I open package manager to add vlc's site and gyachi's site to manage repository but I can't do
Help me; (opensolaris 09.06 x86)

What have you downloaded?
If you have solaris pkg files than you can user pkgadd to install the software

If you have downloaded the source code than it would need to be compiled on your system
