Default deleting files from trash with 'space' in the filename

When I delete files from the trash using nautilus 2.6.1 on solaris 10, files with a space in their name don't get deleted (any if I selected other files, they are not deleted either). Files can be moved to the .Trash folder just fine, by pressing delete or right-click - Move To Trash. And I can get rid of them on the command line, but that's a bit tedious.

Any ideas? Is this a known bug? It was difficult to do a good search, because 'space' usually shows up as memory storage space on the filesystem, especially if trash is part of the search.
